Community & Religious Programmes

Courses for adults

  • Farz Uloom course (3 months). “Seeking knowledge is obligatory on every Muslim man and woman.” This course teaches Islamic beliefs, jurisprudence and character to students, men and women, and gives a certificate on completion.
  • 15-day prayer course. A short course that corrects common mistakes that can spoil or invalidate the daily prayer.
  • Washing and preparing the deceased for burial, for women and men.

Regular gatherings

  • Weekly, every Friday after the Isha (night) prayer: a lesson, remembrance of Allah and prayers for men.
  • Monthly, on the 11th: a lesson, a talk, remembrance of Allah and prayers for women.

10-day Muharram gathering for women

The Muharram gathering, remembering the martyrs of Karbala, runs from the moon-sighting night to 9 Muharram, with a special address by a visiting woman scholar. On 9 Muharram, women and older girls who finished a course are honoured with a shawl, a certificate and a copy of Kanzul Iman. This year 12 women completed reading the Quran, 3 the basic Islamic studies course and 90 the 15-day prayer course.

Annual occasions

  • Annual Day (at the Urs of Ala Hazrat), with the Khwaja Garib Nawaz Award
  • Celebrations of the Prophet’s birthday (Eid Milad un Nabi) and of Gaus e Aazam, held with Noori Mahfil Group, Naujawanan e Ahle Sunnat Kasarvadavali and the Khwaja ka Hindustan committee, including a devotional poetry competition
  • The Juloos e Muhammadiya and Juloos e Gausiya processions, with a viewing of the blessed hair relic (Ziyarat e Mue Mubarak)
  • Commemorations of Imam Abu Hanifa and Imam Shafi’i, the four rightly guided Caliphs, and the Prophet’s night journey (Meraj un Nabi)
