Who we are

About us

Founded in 2001 with a noble aim and high spirits: to spread religious and worldly education and serve the community through social welfare.

Our mission

Every child will be religious, and every child will be a reciter of the Holy Quran.

By the grace of Allah, and inspired by Khwaja Garib Nawaz, the Khwaja Garib Nawaz Educational & Welfare Trust began its work in 2001. Over two decades, that vision has grown from annual gatherings and Langar e Garib Nawaz (a free community meal) into a full network of learning.

Today the Trust runs Madrasa Maktaba e Chishtiya in three locations, Sanjari Academy for school coaching, and career, skills and health programmes, all for the religious and worldly progress of the community.

How the madrasa teaches

Special attention is given to reading the Quran with the correct sound and articulation of every letter. Students progress through three parts.

  1. Part one

1 hour 15 minutes per class

The Qaida primer with the correct sound of every letter, the Islamic kalimas and everyday duas from the Sunnah. A student moves on only after reciting correctly and the teacher signs their book.

  2. Part two

    about 2 hours per class

Qaida rules and reading the Quran, 20 surahs and Ayat al Kursi, the duas of the daily prayer (Hanafi and Shafi’i), and Urdu reading and writing.

  3. Part three

    2 hours per class

Reading the Quran with tajweed (the rules of recitation), and the Darse Mohammadi books on beliefs (Mon–Tue), character (Wed–Thu) and jurisprudence (Saturday).
